China

China's booming economy is hungry for power and the Chinese Government has set a policy of support for renewable energy. After careful review by a large panel of experts, China has granted support for a 300 MW project in its coastal waters.

Signing Ceremony

Governor Zhang Wenyue of Liaoning Province (pop. 50.2 million) traveled to New York City to preside over the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Chinese Government in Dandong City and Tidal Electric's affiliate Tai Yang Dian Li ("TYDL") represented by Michael Ashburn, a longtime Asian-resident originally from the UK.

Discussions were held at the Yale Club of New York, followed by lunch and the signing ceremony. Mayor Chen of Dandong (extreme left) has a Ph.d in economics, speaks 8 languages, and has visited 60 countries. Mayor Wang (second from left) of Dongang City, Mayor Wu, and Michael Ashburn of TYDL worked out details of the cooperation.
